I was a fool for hurting you
I broke your heart in two
I thought I needed somebody new
Now all I need is you

We loved each other through everything
Together we laughed and we cried
Without you my life isn't anything
Can't we give love one more try?

Don't you love me anymore?
Don't you feel like you felt before?
I'm still hoping that you will be mine
Can't we try love one more time?

Why I went crazy is hard to say
I only made one mistake
I had to find out the hard way
Sometimes that's all it takes

Don't you love me anymore?
Don't you feel like you felt before?
I'm still hoping that you will be mine
Can't we try love one more time?

ABOUT THE SONG
This song was written many years ago, after my first marriage crashed and burned. On one hand, this is a classically simple cryin'-in-your-beer love song. On the other, it's my personal reflection on the love of my life.

This song was recorded almost by accident. I had been hanging out at Studio-56 (aka Radio Recorders, a legendary studio), owned by drummer/producer Paul Schwartz (Paul and I went to high school together in Philadelphia, formed a band which led to my first recording sessions in New York, recording contracts with Fantasy Records, RCA and others). We would often jam and record at his studio, sometimes just me on piano and Paul on drums. During one of those sessions, I popped out this chestnut. Since Paul owned the studio, he would often work on our recordings in my absence ... having his employees engineer and play. As a result, I'm not certain who engineered sometimes, and in fact ... I'm not always sure who's playing on some of the tracks! But I am sure of this: Some excellent guitar work by Tom Herzer, and another stellar vocal by Rob Trow!

This song has received some attention. For some time, I've had my music on a musical website called Broadjam. They have a system of charts based upon reviews by other Broadjam members and site visitors. Love One More Time has received many glowing reviews, and has been on several of Broadjam's Country Top-10 charts ... many times. It has also received Honorable Mention in the Billboard World Song Contest. I guess everyone loves a love song!
