ABOUT THE SONG

I once heard Michael tell my Mother that he was emulating my style when he wrote 'I'll Live Alone.'  Quite a compliment.  While I can understand what he meant, this song is pure Caruso ... a great ballad from the heart.  I've always loved playing it ... especially the few times Michael and I ventured out to play nightclubs 'in the day.'

It's about time I give some props to the great Walt Barr!  Walt was one of the finest people I ever met, and I was lucky to play music with him.  From the early days of the Sunrise album to the road trips to North Carolian, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Montana, Alaska, Calgary, Toronto ... the adventures were many ... and Walt was the greatest.  I roomed with him often on the road, lived with him (and our ladies) in Venice.  He honored me by asking me to co-produce his solo albums ... much of which I also engineered, mixed, and played keyboards.  I will soon post a serious tribute to Walt ... who sadly passed away in the mid-nineties.  He is missed by many!

Walt plays great guitar all over the Sunrise and Serenade recordings ... including here on 'I'll Live Alone.'
